Reflection

Hello everyone!

Today, I want to share with you a very special post of this blog.

First of all, I want to comment that from my point of view being reflective as a teacher is very important. Also, we should encourage students to be reflective on their own learning. The use of reflections in the classroom is a powerful practice for both teachers and students.

So, now I'm going to make a reflection about what I've learnt during the course. I had great memories while I was creating my final artifact which summarizes this course. Here you can see it!

Time flies and I needed to reflect on how much I've learnt about ICT:

I learned how to embed an online tool in my learning journal. Also, how to change the size of these things. (This has been a bit more difficult but in the end I've got it).

I learned from my teacher and my classmates and also I learned from myself.

 I improved my digital competences.

I learned that ICT requires time but it´s more than worthy when you know how to use each of the app that we've seen.

If I have to choose my favourite activity is the video clip. Using the chroma it was really hard and we have to spend a lot of time, but it was really fun. Also I have to say that another activity that I really like it was the Slideshow because I discovered more tools apart from Power Point or Prezi that I have been using all my life, so from now on I will use Genially.

If I have to choose one activity that I don't like is the mindmap. I found it difficult, I would use the traditional way to create mindmaps. Mindmeister has not stopped giving me headaches.

To sum up ICT in education is important for the 21st century. Although I sometimes felt frustrated using ICT, I think I have learned many resources that I did not know and that really are very useful to carry them out in our lessons, because as teachers of the 21st century we must use ICT as one of the main resources for our work.

I would like to thank to Francisco for his patience and his advices!

 It has been a pleasure!

Record your video clip

Hi everyone!

I´m back to talk about the use of video clip in education. I think using videos in the classroom is a really good idea. Not only does the video provide a teacher with a wide range of benefits but it is also a fun and entertainment experiment for children.

We can create our own videos to teach content or make our students protagonists.

I want to show you an example that I made with two classmates. We have used to edit and create the video VSCD Free Video Editor, which from my point of view is has been difficult since I had never used it before. The images we used are from Pixabay and the effects are from ZapSplat.

We had problems editing the video due to the fact that the we used a green tablecloth, so the chroma was not professional, also the camera and the light maybe was not the appropriated.

The title of our video clip is: Seven wonders of the world and we have decided to do the video about this topic in order to explain to our students the seven wonders of the world and also we can teach them the continents.

Here you have the link to my previous entry about storyboarding the video clip:

 I hope you like it!

From my point of view, it is not perfect but we do our best. I really enjoy this activity it was really useless! The creation of  the video was extremely fun! We spent  enjoyable moments recording the video and we couldn't stop laughing, indeed we had to repeat some scenes.
Despite being our first educational video, I think it is good. Anyway, we will be able to make better videos in the future.

I can just add that it has been an unforgettable and amusing experience in which I have learnt how to create educational videos, a valuable educational resource with a lot of possibilities.

The world is my audience

Hello everyone!

I want to share with you my experience using Flipgrid, it is an online app where you can share videos. We can use this app in the classroom where students can share an opinion or they can also share a travel experience. These are just some examples but the utility of the app is that students can share their videos about different topics and then watch the videos of their classmates and also from other people. I have created a video talking about how I decided to study this master. I think it was destiny. What do you think?

I found this app really interesting and useful.  With this app we can:

Develop the students' ability to express themselves.
It can help you to evaluate an activity.
Teachers can ask for an opinion about a reading, a movie that students have visualized or a topic discussed in class ...
Increase your possibilities of analysis on the subject of each grid, since the students give their opinion, from their particular perspective, in an open discussion.
Increase student confidence.

It could be interesting to use this activity at the beginning of the academic year where students can introduce themselves or talk about their holidays. I think it would be a motivating activity to start getting to know the students and their interest. I will use it the first days of school.

I hope you like it!

Storyboard a video project

Hello everyone!

My group did a storyboard to represent each scene of the video that we are going to record. In the storyboard, you can see the title of the movie and a brief description of it. Also, a picture of each scene and the dialogue and the link where we found the effects that we are going to use in each scene.

We have used the template to create the storyboard rather than used the tool online because we found that the online tool we just could create 6 scenes and our movie has 8 frames.

I will embed here our storyboard, our plan where the storyboard is explained. Also, we found that with the online tool we could not use the background we wanted so for this reason we decide to use a document word, images from Pixabay and emojis from Birmoji to make the final images for each scene.

As you just have seen our storyboard is called “Seven Wonders of the world” the film is about three friends, Eva María, Eva, and Marta. Eva María and Marta are bored in the kitchen, they don’t know what to do. Eva comes to the kitchen with a brilliant idea. She has three magic balls that allow them to go wherever they want. Taking advantage of them, they will travel and visit the Seven Wonders of the World: The Great Wall of China, Petra, Christ the Redeemer, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza, Colosseum and Taj Mahal. Each one is going to visit two of them and will explain to them a little bit of each monument. In addition, they will tell us the continent where it is located and the city. Let's discover each of the seven wonders of the world. Each girl will take two magic balls and will visit different monuments and, in the end, they will meet again in the last destination.

The aims of this activity are:

To learn the continents.
To learn about the Seven Wonders of the World.
To recognize the country where the monuments come from.
To develop digital competencies.
To improve listening skills.
To develop a critical and open attitude towards other cultures different from ours.

We will watch the video in the classroom and then we will show the different continents and countries on the map. After they will learn about each monument, we will play an interactive game in which they will have to stand up and point to the country, continent or the monument. Depending on what the teacher asks them to do and they will have to tell their classmates the other things (name of the monument, country or continent). For example, the teacher says: “point to the Colosseum” and the student will have to point on the map where the Colosseum is, and tell the rest of the class the continent and the country where the monument is.

With this project, students will be divided into seven groups. Each group will be one Wonder of the World. They will have to search for information about the monument and present it to the rest of the class.

This is the map that we are going to use.
